Tawtheeq vs Ejari: What Is the Difference?
Tawtheeq and Ejari do the same job in different emirates. Tawtheeq is Abu Dhabi’s tenancy registration, run by the DMT on the TAMM platform. Ejari is Dubai’s tenancy registration, run by the Dubai Land Department. Each is mandatory in its own emirate, each activates utilities and visa steps there, and neither is accepted in place of the other.

Which one you need
It depends only on where the property sits. A unit in Abu Dhabi is registered on Tawtheeq. A unit in Dubai is registered on Ejari. If you move between the two emirates, you register fresh in the new emirate rather than transferring the old record.
