SEWA Activation in Sharjah: How It Works
SEWA activates your electricity and water once your Sharjah tenancy contract is attested by the municipality. Attestation comes first: without it, SEWA will not connect the unit. After attestation you apply to SEWA with the attested contract, Emirates ID and the premises details, pay the SEWA deposit and activation charge, and the connection is switched on.
- Attestation must come first
- SEWA connects electricity and water
- Separate SEWA deposit applies
- Attested contract is required
The order that matters
Many new tenants try to activate SEWA before attesting the contract and get turned away. The sequence is fixed: sign the contract, attest it at Sharjah Municipality, then apply to SEWA. The attestation is the proof SEWA needs that your tenancy is registered.
What you need for SEWA
- The attested tenancy contract
- Tenant Emirates ID
- The premises number for the unit
- Owner details where SEWA requests them
- The SEWA deposit and activation charge
